Desdorp's Inbalance: Revolutionizing EV Charging Stations

Unveiling the Award-Winning Design and Technology of Inbalance

Desdorp presents Inbalance, an innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station that seamlessly integrates into urban, office, and domestic environments. This article delves into the design inspiration, unique properties, and the technology behind this award-winning creation.

Desdorp's Inbalance draws its design inspiration from diverse urban environments and modern office buildings. The designers aimed to strike a balance between form, function, and material, resulting in an unobtrusive and honest product. Its shape and material selection allow it to blend perfectly into any environment, from the narrow streets of old towns to the sprawling spaces of new business centres, parking lots, or private homes.

The Inbalance EV charging station stands out with its neat design and clear lines. It can be both futuristic and classic, making it suitable for aesthetic integration in various settings. The charging station is user-friendly and can function as a standalone version or be scaled into a complex system. It is managed and controlled via the cloud, offering dynamic charging options based on demand.

The product's minimalistic form and aerodynamic upper part are highly water-resistant, making it reliable for installation in parking lots, parking areas, garages, and residential areas. The modular upper part of the EV charging station allows the number of AC charging ports to be changed from 2 to 4 as required, with a power capacity of up to 22kW per socket. The continuous connection of chargers with a single cable makes installation easy and future-proof.

The Inbalance cloud control system is designed to react and balance the grid on a national level according to the requirements of power providers or grid operators. This solution also allows location owners to apply dynamic pricing models or restrict access for different client groups or locations. Light indicators next to the sockets provide a quick and intuitive understanding of the charging status, and control through the app ensures a smooth user experience with a simple payment process.

The development of the innovative hardware and business model began in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2018. By 2020, the Desdorp team joined the design process, and by the end of the same year, primary prototypes were built. In 2021, EV charging stations were installed at multiple locations in Vilnius and have been in active use since then. In October 2021, the EV Charging station was highlighted during the design week in Vilnius and won the National "Good Design" prize in Lithuania.

Desdorp's Inbalance EV charging station is a testament to the balance between form, function, and material. Its clear lines, selection of materials, and technical solutions like dynamic load management and cloud control system make it a unique and reliable product. The station's design and functionality have earned it the prestigious Silver A' Energy Products, Projects, and Devices Design Award in 2022, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
